Date: 30th November 2014
Venue: 横浜国際コート
Time: 0930 – 1930

This event is held annually to serve the purpose of providing Malaysian students in Japan the opportunity to meet each other and enhance the relationship between parties through sports.

This year, 2014, there were a total of 13 teams that participated in our futsal tournament. Each of the team consists of 8 players whereby 3 of them are the subs. The participants consisted mainly of college and university students, Malaysian Embassy staffs, Top Career’s (MSAJ’s sponsor) representatives and other professionals.

This year, the venue was different from the previous years. It is 3-minute walking distance from 小机駅 and has 3 futsal courts. Although the place was not as good as what we expected, it didn’t stop our participants from getting excited and energetic.

Registration of the event started at 9.30am and competitions started at 10.30am. 13 teams were separated into 3 groups, namely Group A, B and C. Each consisted of 4 teams and Group C with 5 teams.

This tournament was conducted in the round robin format for group stage. Every team got to versus each other in their own group. 2 teams in each group with the highest score proceeded to the Gold Cup Tournament and compete for the prizes. While the others proceeded to Silver Cup Tournament where every team could still have fun playing with each other.

After 4 hours of games, Sakaijing, JAD 1, Toyokostarz Tsukuba, Kofu Jambu, Tokai and Udai Gundan succeeded in proceeding to the Gold Cup Tournament and Saidai FC, 31st FC, Embassy, Felda Kiryu, Putih Melati and Top Career proceeded into the Silver Cup Tournament.

In the quarter final of the Gold Cup Tournament, JAD 1 won over Toyokostarz with 5-2, Tsukuba won over Kofu Jambu with 4-1, and Udai Gundan won over Tokai with 2-0 to proceed into the semi-finals. Since team Sakaijing scored the highest score among all teams in the early game stage, the team proceeded into semi-final automatically.

In semi-final, JAD 1 again, won over Sakaijing with 2-1 and proceeded into the final. While their opponent was team Udai Gundan who kicked team Tsukuba out of the tournament by 4-3. After a long 25-minute final game between JAD 1 and Udai Gundan, JAD 1 who scored 5 with 2 winning goal difference became the winner of the day.

This event ended with a closing speech by our Bureau of Sports and Recreation representative, Mr. Izzul Hadi Rozlan and prize giving by our president, Mr. Zed Al Habshee Syed Abdul Hamid.
